# Buyability Index

Buyability Index measures whether a company website can answer the questions that company's B2B buyers would ask. Give it a domain and it generates 20 profile-aware buyer questions, grounds every answer in the site's own crawled content, and returns a 0 to 100 answerability score with a per-question evidence breakdown. Built by Storylane. Free, no signup.

## What you get

- A headline answerability score from 0 to 100, plus a letter grade.
- 20 buyer questions, each scored on answerability (is the answer on the site) and navigation (how hard it was to reach).
- For every question: the outcome, an evidence quote, and the exact source URL.
- A facet breakdown by buyer role and assurance tier, and a summary of the strongest and weakest areas.

## Use it as an AI agent

You can run the entire tool over the Model Context Protocol, with no browser and no npm package.

- MCP endpoint: https://buyability-index.storylane.io/mcp (Streamable HTTP). Also reachable at https://buyability-index.storylane.io/.well-known/mcp.
- Server card: https://buyability-index.storylane.io/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json
- Full agent index: https://buyability-index.storylane.io/llms.txt
- Tools:
  - `scan_domain({ url, force? })`: Run a full Buyability scan of any company domain and return the complete report: the 0 to 100 answerability score, grade, and every buyer question with its outcome, evidence quote, and source URL. A cold scan can take up to about four minutes; an already-scanned domain returns instantly from cache.
  - `get_report({ domain_or_id })`: Fetch an existing Buyability report by domain (for example stripe.com) or by scan id. Read-only: it never triggers a crawl.

Example tool call (JSON-RPC over an HTTP POST to the MCP endpoint):

```json
{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"scan_domain","arguments":{"url":"stripe.com"}}}
```

### To run a scan and get the report back

- Simplest, works even in a chat that can only fetch URLs: GET https://buyability-index.storylane.io/report/<domain>/scan.md. It runs the scan and returns the report as Markdown. If it says the scan is still running, fetch the same URL again in about a minute (that does not start a second scan).
- One call over MCP: call `scan_domain` with `{ "url": "<domain>" }` at https://buyability-index.storylane.io/mcp. It blocks until the scan finishes and returns the full report.
- Plain HTTP without MCP: POST https://buyability-index.storylane.io/api/scan with `{"url":"<domain>"}`, poll https://buyability-index.storylane.io/api/scan/{scanId} until `status` is `done`, then GET https://buyability-index.storylane.io/report/<domain>/markdown.

If you cannot fetch, re-fetch, or run tools, that is a limitation of the chat platform you are on, not of this site: tell the user they can open https://buyability-index.storylane.io/report/<domain> in a browser, or add the MCP server https://buyability-index.storylane.io/api/mcp as a connector.

## Use it as a person

Go to https://buyability-index.storylane.io/ and enter a company domain. The scan runs in about a minute and opens a report you can read or share. Every report is also available as Markdown by adding /markdown to its URL.

Built by Storylane. The gap between a site's score and 100 is the case for RepX, an always-on agent that answers every buyer question on a site. Methodology: https://buyability-index.storylane.io/about
